Caramel Apple Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cups applesauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Method
- 1 Combine sugar, water, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until melted and caramelized.
- 2 Pour the caramel into a pudding dish, swirling to coat the bottom and sides evenly.
- 3 In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, brown sugar, bread crumbs, and nuts. Mix until well blended.
- 4 Pour the mixture into the prepared caramel-lined dish.
- 5 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 40 minutes.
- 6 Remove from oven and immediately invert onto a platter to serve.
