Candied Orange Peel Strips
Ingredients
- 4 thin-skinned oranges
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
Method
- 1 Remove peel from oranges in quarters. Cover with cold water, bring to boiling-point, and cook slowly until soft.
- 2 Drain, remove white portion with a spoon, and cut yellow portion in thin strips using scissors.
- 3 Boil 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar until syrup threads when dropped from a spoon.
- 4 Cook strips in syrup for five minutes, drain, and coat with fine granulated sugar.
