Candied Nuts
Ingredients
- 1 lb granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup blanched and finely chopped almonds, peanuts, or mixed nuts
Method
- 1 Dissolve the sugar and salt in a heavy skillet or spider over medium heat without adding water, stirring constantly until completely melted.
- 2 Quickly mix in the chopped nuts and pour the mixture immediately into a well-greased pan.
- 3 While still warm, mark the candy into squares.
- 4 Allow to cool completely, then pound or grind into fine pieces to sprinkle over custards.
