Candied Crab Apples

Ingredients

  • 6 quarts crab apples
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 cups water

Method

  1. 1 Combine sugar and water in a large pot. Stir over heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. 2 Bring syrup to a boil and skim off any foam or impurities.
  3. 3 Wash crab apples, rubbing the blossom end well.
  4. 4 Add apples to the boiling syrup and cook gently until tender, 20-50 minutes.
