Ingredients

  • 1 quart peeled and cut tomatoes
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • slices of bread, toasted

Method

  1. 1 Boil the peeled and cut tomatoes for about 10 minutes.
  2. 2 Strain the tomatoes and return the liquid to a saucepan.
  3. 3 Add salt, pepper, and butter to the saucepan and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. 4 Pour the hot tomato mixture over toasted bread slices on a platter.
