Buttermilk Griddle Cakes
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1½ tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Method
- 1 Mix and sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together in a large bowl.
- 2 Beat the egg, then stir in the milk.
- 3 Pour the milk mixture slowly into the dry ingredients and beat thoroughly.
- 4 Stir in the melted butter.
- 5 Cook the batter on a hot griddle immediately, similar to sour milk griddle cakes.
