Butter Yeast Breakfast Cakes
Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 2 egg whites
- Yeast (prepared)
- Warm milk
- Flour
- Sugar
Method
- 1 Prepare yeast by rinsing and adding a little sugar and water to activate.
- 2 Beat butter and egg whites until very light, then mix with warm milk and activated yeast.
- 3 Add flour and beat the mixture for 15 minutes until it forms a tough, light dough.
- 4 Keep the dough warm to rise, then beat it down and let it rise twice more for lightness.
- 5 Shape dough into saucer-sized rounds and bake in a slow oven (300°F).
