Butter Shortcrust Pastry With Egg Yolks
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- ¾ cup butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- Water
Method
- 1 Sift the flour, salt, and sugar together in a bowl.
- 2 Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3 Mix in the beaten egg yolks and add enough water to form a soft paste.
- 4 Roll the dough two or three times to incorporate ingredients, then wrap it.
- 5 Refrigerate the dough for one hour before rolling and using.
