Butter Sautéed Jam Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • bread slices
  • milk
  • jam or preserve
  • butter
  • powdered sugar

Method

  1. 1 Cut bread into ¼-inch thick slices and stamp into 3-inch circles using a biscuit cutter.
  2. 2 Lightly moisten bread circles with milk, being careful not to make them soggy.
  3. 3 Spread jam or preserve on one side of each circle and sandwich two together.
  4. 4 Sauté sandwiches in butter in a frying pan until golden brown on both sides.
  5. 5 Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot. Optionally serve with sabayon sauce.
