  • 1 lb rice
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 oz butter
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. 1 Wash the rice and place it in a saucepan with 1 quart of cold water, butter, and salt.
  2. 2 Bring to a gentle boil over heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. 3 Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until grains are separate and just cooked through.
