Butter Rice With Peas

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • butter
  • boiling water
  • peas (fresh or canned)
  • salt

Method

  1. 1 Chop the onion and sauté in butter until well browned.
  2. 2 Add rice little by little, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
  3. 3 Add boiling water one cup at a time, continuing to stir.
  4. 4 Drain peas and add them toward the end of cooking.
  5. 5 When almost cooked, add salt and cook until almost dry.
  6. 6 Stir in butter and serve hot.
