Butter Rice With Peas
Ingredients
- 1½ lb rice
- 1 medium onion, chopped fine
- butter
- boiling water
- peas (fresh or canned)
- salt
Method
- 1 Chop the onion and sauté in butter until well browned.
- 2 Add rice little by little, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
- 3 Add boiling water one cup at a time, continuing to stir.
- 4 Drain peas and add them toward the end of cooking.
- 5 When almost cooked, add salt and cook until almost dry.
- 6 Stir in butter and serve hot.
