Method

  1. 1 Cream the butter, then add water and flour alternately, beating continuously.
  2. 2 Beat the egg whites. Add half to the mixture, then add chopped nuts, baking powder, and beat well.
  3. 3 Fold in the remaining beaten egg whites.
  4. 4 Bake in a round cake pan in a moderate oven (350°F) for three-quarters of an hour.
