Butter Nut Cake With Icing
Ingredients
- butter
- water
- flour
- egg whites
- chopped nuts
- baking powder
- icing
- nut meats for decoration
Method
- 1 Cream the butter, then add water and flour alternately, beating continuously.
- 2 Beat the egg whites. Add half to the mixture, then add chopped nuts, baking powder, and beat well.
- 3 Fold in the remaining beaten egg whites.
- 4 Bake in a round cake pan in a moderate oven (350°F) for three-quarters of an hour.
- 5 When cool, ice the top and decorate with nut meats.
