Butter Milk Biscuit Rolls

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 1 cake compressed yeast
  • a little tepid milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • enough flour to make bread dough

Method

  1. 1 Melt butter in warm milk. Dissolve yeast in a little tepid milk, then stir into the milk mixture.
  2. 2 Add salt and enough flour to form a bread dough. Knead briefly, then set in a warm place to rise for about two hours.
  3. 3 Roll out dough using minimal flour. Cut with a biscuit cutter or shape by hand into rolls.
  4. 4 Place rolls in pans and let rise on a shelf over the range for 10-15 minutes.
  5. 5 Bake for 15-20 minutes until done.
