  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Method

  1. 1 Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
  2. 2 Add eggs and beat until very light.
  3. 3 Mix flour and cream of tartar.
  4. 4 Combine milk and baking soda.
  5. 5 Add dry and wet ingredients alternately to batter.
  6. 6 Bake for 25 minutes.
