Butter Braised Haricot Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 lb haricot beans
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Soak the beans overnight in water.
  2. 2 Place beans in a pot with boiling water, a small piece of butter, and a small onion. Boil gently for 3 to 4 hours until tender.
  3. 3 Drain the beans. Return to the pot and shake over low heat with a little butter, salt, and pepper before serving.
