Butter Braised Brussels Sprouts With Nutmeg
Ingredients
- Brussels sprouts, cleaned and trimmed
- Salted water
- A little soda (optional)
- A good lump of butter or fat
- Pepper
- A tiny pinch of nutmeg
Method
- 1 Simmer cleaned sprouts in salted water with a little soda (optional) to preserve color, or keep covered tightly, until tender.
- 2 Drain the sprouts thoroughly and place them in a clean pan.
- 3 Add a good lump of butter or fat, stirring until melted, then sprinkle with pepper and a tiny pinch of nutmeg.
