Butter Boiled White Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 lb good rice
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 oz butter
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. 1 Wash the rice and place it in a saucepan with 1 quart of cold water, butter, and salt.
  2. 2 Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. 3 Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. 4 Cook until all water is absorbed and grains are separate but not soft.
  5. 5 Serve immediately.
