Butter Boiled White Rice
Ingredients
- 1 lb good rice
- 1 quart water
- 1 oz butter
- salt to taste
Method
- 1 Wash the rice and place it in a saucepan with 1 quart of cold water, butter, and salt.
- 2 Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 3 Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 4 Cook until all water is absorbed and grains are separate but not soft.
- 5 Serve immediately.
