  • 2 slices bacon
  • veal, mutton, or beef, sliced
  • sliced onions
  • turnips, sliced
  • carrots, sliced
  • celery, chopped
  • fresh thyme
  • ground allspice
  • water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Place bacon in the bottom of a stew pan. Layer sliced meat (veal, mutton, or beef) on top.
