Brown Sugar Yeast Donut Cakes
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- Vegetable oil for frying
Method
- 1 Sift flour and brown sugar together into a large bowl.
- 2 Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add to flour mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
- 3 Let dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- 4 Knead in softened butter. Shape into small cakes the size of a half-dollar.
- 5 Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
