Brown Sugar Walnut Fudge
Ingredients
- 2 cups dark brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- ½ cup milk
- 1 walnut-sized piece of butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
- 1 Combine sugar and milk in a saucepan. Cook over gentle heat for 7-10 minutes until the mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water.
- 2 Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted.
- 3 Place chopped walnuts in a large bowl and drizzle with vanilla extract.
- 4 Pour the hot candy mixture over the nuts. Beat vigorously with long, rapid strokes until the mixture thickens to the consistency of a cream wafer.
- 5 Turn out onto paraffin paper. Break or cut into pieces while still pliable.
