Brown Sugar Waffles
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cream
- 1 pound brown sugar
- enough flour to make a stiff batter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tbsp sherry
- 1/8 tsp ground mace
- 2-3 cloves, ground
Method
- 1 Melt the brown sugar in the milk and cream, then strain the mixture through a sieve to remove impurities.
- 2 Add enough flour to half the liquid to create a stiff paste, then stir in the remaining liquid to prevent lumps.
- 3 Stir in the beaten eggs, sherry, ground mace, and ground cloves until well combined.
- 4 Pour the batter into waffle irons and bake until crisp and golden brown.
