Brown Sugar Toffee

Ingredients

• 1 lb brown sugar
• ¾ cup cold water
• 8 oz unsalted butter

Method

1. 1 Combine brown sugar, cold water, and butter in a small preserving pan.
2. 2 Stir well together over heat until the mixture reaches a full boil.
3. 3 Test the toffee's strength by dropping a small amount into cold water to check for hard crack stage, similar to barley sugar.
