Brown Sugar Spiced Shortbread
Ingredients
- 8 oz flour
- 4 oz brown sugar
- 3.5 oz butter
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 pinch mace
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 pinch bicarbonate of soda
Method
- 1 Pound flour, brown sugar, butter, nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, and bicarbonate of soda together until well combined.
- 2 Form the mixture into a ball, wrap in a fine linen or muslin cloth, and let rest overnight.
- 3 Preheat oven to 350°F.
- 4 Cut the dough into diamonds or desired shapes.
- 5 Place on buttered baking trays and bake until set.
