Brown Sugar Spice Raisin Cakes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup raisins
Method
- 1 Cream shortening, add sugar and beaten egg.
- 2 Sift together flour, baking powder, and spices. Add to creamed mixture along with milk and mix well.
- 3 Toss raisins with a little flour and fold into batter.
- 4 Pour into small greased tins and bake in a 350°F oven for 25 minutes.
