Brown Sugar Raisin And Nut Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups finely chopped nuts
- 1 1/2 cups finely chopped raisins
Method
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, shortening, eggs, baking soda dissolved in water, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- 2 Mix thoroughly, then stir in flour, chopped nuts, and raisins until well combined.
- 3 Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a well-greased and floured baking sheet.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 12 minutes.
