Brown Sugar Glazed Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
- 6 medium sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt, for boiling water
Method
- 1 Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Boil in salted water for 10 minutes, then drain.
- 2 Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and place them in a buttered baking pan.
- 3 In a saucepan, boil sugar and water for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon butter to create the syrup.
- 4 Brush the potatoes with the syrup. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, basting twice with the remaining syrup.
