Brown Sugar Glazed Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 6 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt, for boiling water

Method

  1. 1 Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Boil in salted water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  2. 2 Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and place them in a buttered baking pan.
  3. 3 In a saucepan, boil sugar and water for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon butter to create the syrup.
  4. 4 Brush the potatoes with the syrup. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, basting twice with the remaining syrup.
