Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Compote
Ingredients
- Apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
- Water
- 1 lb sugar
- Cinnamon
- Lemon peel, scraped and cut into strings
Method
- 1 Peel, core, and quarter the apples. Wash them clean.
- 2 Place apples in a pan with enough water and sugar to cover. Add cinnamon and prepared lemon peel strings.
- 3 Boil gently until apples are tender.
- 4 Remove apples to a deep dish. Boil the syrup until it reaches proper consistency, then pour over the apples.
