  • Apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
  • Water
  • 1 lb sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Lemon peel, scraped and cut into strings

Method

  1. 1 Peel, core, and quarter the apples. Wash them clean.
  2. 2 Place apples in a pan with enough water and sugar to cover. Add cinnamon and prepared lemon peel strings.
  3. 3 Boil gently until apples are tender.
  4. 4 Remove apples to a deep dish. Boil the syrup until it reaches proper consistency, then pour over the apples.
