Brown Sugar Candied Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
- sweet potatoes
- 1 ½ cups syrup
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
Method
- 1 Cook sweet potatoes in their skins, then cool and peel.
- 2 In a heavy frying pan, combine syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
- 3 Add whole peeled sweet potatoes to the pan. Baste continually and simmer slowly for 20 minutes.
