Brown Sugar Butter Scotch Candy
Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 egg-sized pat of butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Method
- 1 Combine brown sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil without stirring.
- 2 Boil until the mixture hardens on a spoon when tested in cold water.
- 3 Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla if using.
- 4 Pour onto buttered plates and mark into squares before it hardens.
