Brown Sugar Butter Roll Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups bread flour
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 7/8 cup milk
- 1/3 cup butter, creamed
- ¾ cup brown sugar
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 2 Work in shortening with fingertips, then add milk and stir with a knife until combined.
- 3 Roll dough thin, spread with creamed butter and brown sugar, then roll up like a jelly roll.
- 4 Cut into 1-inch thick pieces and place cut side up in greased muffin pans.
- 5 Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.
