Brown Sugar Baked Beans With Salt Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 pint small white beans
  • ½ lb salt pork, scored
  • ½ tsp dry mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper to taste
  • ½ cup white sugar

Method

  1. 1 Soak beans overnight. Drain, rinse with cold water, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  2. 2 Place beans in a bean pot with pork, mustard, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  3. 3 Add water as needed and bake at 300°F for 12 hours.
