Brown Sugar Almond And Hazelnut Praline Powder
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup shelled almonds, skins on
- 1 cup shelled filberts (hazelnuts), skins on
Method
- 1 Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over heat. Stir until sugar is fully dissolved.
- 2 Add almonds and filberts with skins. Cook without stirring until the mixture reaches a golden caramel color.
- 3 Pour onto a slab or oiled dish. Let cool completely.
- 4 Pound the cooled mixture in a mortar until it forms a coarse powder. Store in an airtight jar.
