Brown Gravy Lima Beans With Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 pint dried lima beans
  • 3 small onions
  • butter
  • brown gravy or thickened stock

Method

  1. 1 Soak the dried beans overnight, then drain and boil in fresh water until tender. Drain and keep warm.
  2. 2 Parboil the onions, then chop them finely.
  3. 3 Fry the chopped onions in butter until softened.
  4. 4 Reheat the beans with the fried onions, then moisten with brown gravy or thickened stock.
