Brown Gravy Lima Beans With Onions
Ingredients
- 1 pint dried lima beans
- 3 small onions
- butter
- brown gravy or thickened stock
Method
- 1 Soak the dried beans overnight, then drain and boil in fresh water until tender. Drain and keep warm.
- 2 Parboil the onions, then chop them finely.
- 3 Fry the chopped onions in butter until softened.
- 4 Reheat the beans with the fried onions, then moisten with brown gravy or thickened stock.
