Brown Butter Thickened Stewed Mushrooms
Ingredients
- mushrooms
- salt
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown flour
- red wine (optional)
Method
- 1 Clean mushrooms: cut off the earthy stem base, wash carefully, and peel the skin from the caps.
- 2 Place mushrooms in a stew pan with salt and no water. Stew until tender.
- 3 Thicken with a mixture of 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp brown flour. Add red wine if desired, though optional.
