Brown Butter Thickened Stewed Mushrooms

  • salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown flour
  • red wine (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Clean mushrooms: cut off the earthy stem base, wash carefully, and peel the skin from the caps.
  2. 2 Place mushrooms in a stew pan with salt and no water. Stew until tender.
  3. 3 Thicken with a mixture of 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp brown flour. Add red wine if desired, though optional.
