Brown Butter Rice With Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- ½ cup rice
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small leek or white onion, chopped
- vegetable stock
- tomato sauce, for serving
Method
- 1 Wash the rice and drain well.
- 2 Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped leek or onion and rice, frying until the rice turns golden brown. Do not let it burn.
- 3 Add enough vegetable stock to nearly fill the skillet. Cook for 20 minutes until the rice is dry and every grain stands alone.
- 4 Transfer to a platter and serve with tomato sauce.
