Brown Butter Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 1 tbsp flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 small piece butter
Method
- 1 Melt 2 tbsp butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat until very hot.
- 2 Add 1 tbsp flour, sprinkle over the bottom, and cook until thoroughly browned.
- 3 Pour in 1 cup boiling water and bring to a boil.
- 4 Mix 1 tbsp flour with 1 cup sweet milk until smooth, then stir into the boiling water.
- 5 Add salt, pepper, and a small piece of butter. Cook until thickened and serve.
