Brown Butter Glazed Carrots
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tablespoons margarine or butter
- 1 pound carrots
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 2 teaspoons sugar
Method
- 1 Peel carrots, cut in half lengthwise, then into 1-inch pieces.
- 2 Melt margarine in a heavy saucepan over low heat.
- 3 Add carrots and stir to coat with margarine.
- 4 Add water, salt, and pepper. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes until tender.
- 5 Drain water, add sugar, cover, and shake pan on burner for 1 minute.
- 6 Cook for 1 more minute until glazed but not brown.
