Brown Butter Chicken And Sausage Stew
Ingredients
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4-5 slices ham, ½ inch wide
- 1 whole chicken
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Water or chicken broth
- 3-4 fresh sausages
Method
- 1 In a saucepan, combine chopped onion, butter, and ham slices. Place the whole chicken on top and season with salt and pepper.
- 2 Brown the chicken on all sides over medium heat until the onion melts.
- 3 Add enough water or broth to keep the sauce liquid, then add the fresh sausages.
- 4 Simmer on low heat until the chicken and sausages are cooked through, ensuring the sauce does not dry up.
