Broiled Tomato Halves With Sauce
Ingredients
- tomatoes
- salt
- pepper
- butter, oil, maître d'hôtel sauce, hot Mayonnaise, or Béarnaise (for serving)
Method
- 1 Cut tomatoes horizontally in half, leaving skins on.
- 2 Place skin-side down on a broiler rack. Dust with salt and pepper.
- 3 Broil over a moderate fire for 15-20 minutes without turning, until tender.
- 4 Transfer to a hot dish and top with butter, oil, or your choice of sauce.
