Broiled Oysters With Cracker Crumbs
Ingredients
- 1 pint selected oysters
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 2/3 cup seasoned cracker crumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Clean the oysters and pat them dry between towels.
- 2 Lift each oyster by the tough muscle with a fork, dip it in melted butter, then coat in seasoned cracker crumbs.
- 3 Place oysters in a buttered wire broiler and broil over a clear fire, turning occasionally until juices flow.
- 4 Serve immediately with or without Maître d'Hôtel Butter.
