Broiled Beef Steaks With Horseradish And Pickles
Ingredients
- Beef sirloin or rump steaks (about 6 inches long, 4 inches wide, ½ inch thick)
- Salt
- Butter
- Ketchup or minced eschalot (optional)
- Pickles
- Finely scraped horseradish
Method
- 1 Prepare a very clear, brisk fire and sprinkle a little salt on it.
- 2 Heat a gridiron until hot and set it slanting to prevent fat from dripping and causing smoke.
- 3 Place steaks on the gridiron and broil for 10-15 minutes, turning with tongs.
- 4 Rub a bit of butter over the cooked steaks.
- 5 Serve garnished with pickles and finely scraped horseradish.
