  • cold boiled ham, sliced thick
  • pepper
  • olive oil
  • mustard
  • egg
  • cracker crumbs
  • fat bacon or pork slices
  • hard-boiled eggs, sliced

Method

  1. 1 Mix pepper, olive oil, and mustard. Coat ham slices in the mixture, then dip in beaten egg and roll in cracker crumbs. Chill briefly.
  2. 2 Fry bacon or pork slices in a skillet until crisp. Remove meat, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.
  3. 3 Add breaded ham slices to the hot fat. Fry until the bottom is brown, then turn and cook the other side.
  4. 4 Serve hot, garnished with slices of hard-boiled egg placed on each portion of ham.
