Breaded Baked Tilapia

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound tilapia fillets, fresh or thawed
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • fresh lime or lemon, sliced (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. 2 In a small bowl, beat egg, salt, and pepper together.
  3. 3 Place bread crumbs in a separate bowl. Dip fish fillets in egg mixture, then coat with bread crumbs.
  4. 4 Melt butter in a shallow 9x13 inch baking pan in the oven for 1 minute. Tilt pan to coat with butter.
  5. 5 Arrange fish fillets in the pan.
  6. 6 Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with lime or lemon slices.
