Bread Pudding With Raisins
Ingredients
- stale bread, sliced thin and crusts removed
- melted butter
- stoned raisins
- 1 pint milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- plain pudding sauce
Method
- 1 Slice stale bread thinly, remove crusts, and dip slices in melted butter.
- 2 Layer the buttered bread and stoned raisins in a small bread or square cake tin.
- 3 Whisk together 1 pint milk, 2 egg yolks, and 2 tablespoons sugar.
- 4 Pour the milk mixture over the bread layers until absorbed.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 20 to 30 minutes.
- 6 Turn onto a flat dish and serve with plain pudding sauce.
