Bread Pudding With Currants And Cinnamon
Ingredients
- slices of home-made bread (about ½ inch thick)
- butter
- currants
- 3 eggs
- 1 pint milk
- sugar to taste
- grated lemon peel or cinnamon
Method
- 1 Butter slices of bread and layer them in a pudding dish with currants.
- 2 Beat eggs lightly and stir into a pint of milk, sweetening to taste and adding grated lemon peel or cinnamon.
- 3 Pour the custard over the bread and bake in a 350°F oven until set.
- 4 Test with a knife; if it comes out clean, it is done. Serve cold.
