Bread Pudding With Cream, Dates, And Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1 quart heavy cream
- 1 large sprig mace
- 1 inch whole cinnamon stick
- 5-6 egg yolks
- 1 loaf white bread (manchet)
- Dates, sliced
- Sugar, to taste
- Red and white biscuits, crumbled
Method
- 1 In a skillet, bring cream, mace, and cinnamon to a boil. Remove from heat.
- 2 Whisk egg yolks into the hot cream. Strain out spices. Let thicken slightly.
- 3 Slice bread thinly. Layer bread and cream mixture in a dish until full.
- 4 Garnish with sliced dates, sugar, and crumbled biscuits. Serve.
