Bread Pudding With Almonds And Raisins
Ingredients
- 4 slices toasted bread
- 1-1/4 pints milk
- 8 eggs
- 1 oz butter
- sugar to taste
- 2 oz chopped almonds
- 3/4 cup mixed currants and sultanas
- flavoring (cinnamon, lemon, vanilla, or almond essence)
Method
- 1 Crush the toasted bread into crumbs and soak them in the milk.
- 2 Whip the eggs and melt the butter, then add both to the soaked bread.
- 3 Mix in the sugar, chopped almonds, currants, sultanas, and chosen flavoring until thoroughly combined.
- 4 Butter a pie dish, pour in the mixture, dot with butter, and bake at 375°F for 1 hour.
