Ingredients

  • 2 cups stale bread, soaked and squeezed dry
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup flour
  • Milk, as needed
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Method

  1. 1 Soak stale bread in hot water until moistened, then press out excess water.
  2. 2 In a bowl, combine the softened bread, beaten eggs, salt, and flour.
  3. 3 Add enough milk to create a thin, smooth batter.
  4. 4 Stir in baking powder just before cooking.
  5. 5 Cook on a hot griddle until golden brown on both sides.
