Bread-Base Strained Tomato Soup
Ingredients
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 slice bread, cut into dice
- 1 teaspoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Place bread dice in a soup tureen.
- 2 Boil tomatoes in a stew-pan, then rub through a colander over the bread.
- 3 Return pulp to pan, add water, boil, and strain back into the tureen.
- 4 Stir in butter, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.
