Brandy Pound Cake

  • 1 lb butter, softened
  • 1 lb granulated sugar
  • 1 lb all-purpose flour
  • 10 large eggs
  • ¼ tsp ground mace
  • ½ cup brandy

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two loaf pans with parchment paper.
  2. 2 Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. 3 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mace and brandy.
  4. 4 Fold in the flour until just combined. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  5. 5 Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
